Senior Network Engineer (Reference OD-03)

Job Description:

• Responsible for  routing and switching in an enterprise environment.
• The senior engineer will design and architect new networks, update legacy technologies, lead projects and troubleshoot a full range of network related issues.
• This is a full scope position which means that the successful candidate will be able to switch focus and priority quickly while working efficiently implementing and documenting a superior network.
• The qualified candidate must be customer service oriented, be proactive, have strong team building skills and be able to work independently.
• The position requires excellent problem solving skills, the ability to work under pressure and the ability to focus on new technologies.
• Will be accountable for an enterprise network with a need for 99.99% uptime; this will include:

• Implementation and configuration of new network technologies
• Maintenance of access, backbone and external networks
• Monitoring and maintenance of routing and switching equipment
• Operation and maintenance of network management software
• Preparing reports and documentation
• Management and administration of Windows & UNIX systems

• Will be responsible in using evolving technology to improve overall network performance while reducing recurring cost.
• Should be able to document and create processes that simplify network implementation and troubleshooting.
• Finally, the successful candidate should review and analyze new technologies to inform management of the technologies ability to enhance business.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
• A minimum of 4 years of  experience working with Cisco routing and switching.
• CCNP ability is a must and certification desired.
• Must have a keen interest in telecoms, Internet and Web technology along with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, including:

• LAN network design/implementation with an emphasis on VLAN’s and Spanning Tree protocol.
• WAN technologies with an emphasis on PPP, ISDN, Frame Relay and ATM.
• Routing with emphasis on Static, OSPF, EIGRP and BGP4 protocols.

• Network security principles and general network management best practices
• Must understand high level security needs and securities interoperability with data communications.
• Familiarity with other network and security products (i.e.: Cisco PIX, IDS, VPN)
• Load balancing web farms internally and globally using Cisco GSS and CSS a plus.
• Professional in documentation using Visio.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Project.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to communicate well both written and verbally (English & Arabic).
• Candidate should be able to speak to and describe network conditions at the proper level of the audience (technically to an engineer - high level to management or business personnel). 
• In addition, the successful engineer will be able to move focus quickly from task to unrelated task under pressure situations.
